The client is a young, independent motion graphics and animation studio. They intended to move into a 5,000 sf warehouse and the design brief required it be transformed into a creative workplace. It also required a new partial floor (1,500 sf) to be added within.
This building complex is for an architectural material company that mainly deals with import carpet and domestic acoustic absorption material. We renovate and expand the existing building which has basement floor and 3 floors above the ground. Because of the difference of ground level, basement floor has open space on its south side, but on its north side it can’t get daylight.

The new library in Vennesla comprises a library, a café, meeting places and administrative areas, and links an existing community house and learning centre together.
Supporting the idea of an inviting public space, all main public functions have been gathered into one generous space allowing the structure combined with furniture and multiple spatial interfaces to be visible in the interior and from the exterior. An integrated passage brings the city life into and through the building. Furthermore, the brief called for the new building to be open and easily accessible from the main city square, knitting together the existing urban fabric. This was achieved using a large glass facade and urban loggia providing a protected outdoor seating area.

Perched on the banks of the Buffels River, close to its mouth in Pringle Bay – a small coastal town less than 100km from Cape Town, South Africa – this house has an easy living permanence that shakes off the salty winds and lets in the sun and the natural beauty of the surrounding indigenous vegetation and mountain valley.
The house is located in the inner Sydney suburb of Birchgrove in close proximity to the harbour. The original section of the house is a simple timber weatherboard cottage. The rationale was to improve the house by simplification and maximise the outdoor experience on a tight site with neighbours in very close proximity.

The house is located in the tiered-developed residential area on a hill. From the site, the beautiful scenery of the lake can be viewed.
The customer requested that the view be fully utilized and that the space be opened while not being bothered by eyes of neighborhood.
In this project, versatile spaces that incorporate light and scenery were intended by the windows in order to bring out the best in this house.

UOOYAA is a rising fashion brand of ladies apparels. The brand itself is a gift from the founding designer to his daughter, to inspire her, and every girl, to stay liberal, authentic, and fun. We hope to bring out the same brand spirit through the design of the office space. The venue used to be a warehouse of a former space factory. We kept the original structure of the warehouse, made only simple amendment and renovation to the original ceilings. We also added skylights when we reconstructed the factory area. We added second floor to part of the plant, and put most of the main office area and staff recreation area into this second floor. Working on the second floor, people can sit in the cozy work station, while enjoying the sunshine and the view of the sky through the skylight.

This is a Reconstruction of a multi-family house with workshop rooms underneath in the area Seefeld of the city of Zurich. The house has been in a core zone since the new regulations. Therefore the outlines of the existing volumes are protected and the project had to be developed in collaboration with the conservation of monuments. The project is a contextual dialogue with history, the house is 170 years old. The historic, massive stone walls were the starting point for applying new contemporary forms of living – fresh typologies: 5 small apartments in the ‘house’ and 4 residential ateliers in the former workshops.
This house is projected on a north-south oriented plot and features a blind façade on the street while being largely open on the side and the back with the south oriented garden.
The plan “silhouette” is the consequence of the urban rules and the need to perfectly fit with the adjoining house on the east.

We live in times where demolishing a building is easier than restoring and placing a value on it. There is a hidden history in the objects and buildings that is necessary to discover or rediscover. When we work with an existing structure we cannot avoid to make a continuous reading of the elements and the background of the original building work. For us this is the searching of a riddle and having the opportunity to figure it out. Leer más
The clients, a British couple living in Cape Town, requested a six-bedroom, seven-level home that makes the most of the site, the views and the mountain. The lower levels of the existing structure were totally remodelled while the upper level was demolished to allow for two new levels.
The project is located in the farm land on the fringe area of Guye district, Tangshan. Villages and houses are scattered around. The site is a rectangular flat land covers an area of 6000㎡. The basic function of the building is acting as a processing workshop of organic food – raw materials come from organic producing areas across the country, being collected, processed and packed here, and then being delivered to other places as finished products.
The project is our flat in Barcelona in the Gotico area, in the center of the historic part of Barcelona. A challenge was the very heterogenic floor plan, which was interrupted by various light patios. The other issue is little daylight in the old town of Barcelona, as the sun and the heat were considered rather a burden in the old times.
This early XX century patio-apartment presents the opportunity to reformulate the dwelling’s conditions, adapted to Mediterranean climate, in the urban density of Gracia’s district.
Beyond solving the housing scheme for a young couple with two daughters the project aims to understand the house as a gallery that connects the street with the inner courtyards enhancing comfort situations in the intermediate spaces as living thresholds.
