El Colegio Oficial de Arquitectos de Madrid (COAM), a través de la Fundación Arquitectura COAM, en colaboración con el Ayuntamiento de Madrid y la participación de Open House Madrid, celebrará a partir del próximo 29 de septiembre, y hasta el 9 de octubre, la XIII Semana de la Arquitectura que en esta edición propone como invitada a la ciudad de Nueva York.
MAD Architects unveils the completed Harbin Opera House, located in the Northern Chinese city of Harbin. In 2010, MAD won the international open competition for Harbin Cultural Island, a master plan for an opera house, a cultural center, and the surrounding wetland landscape along Harbin’s Songhua River. The sinuous opera house is the focal point of the Cultural Island, occupying a building area of approximately 850,000 square feet of the site’s 444 acres total area. It features a grand theater that can host over 1,600 patrons and a smaller theater to accommodate an intimate audience of 400.
Sin duda OpenHouse se está asentando como uno de los eventos más interesantes de la temporada en Madrid. Durante dos días (sábado 1 y domingo 2 octubre 2016) se podrán visitar, de forma totalmente gratuita, algunos de los edificios más emblemáticos de la ciudad.
La iniciativa se sumará dentro de la Semana de la Arquitectura que organiza el COAM (Colegio Oficial de Arquitectos de Madrid) donde se podrán visitar más de 100 edificios entre los que destacan en esta edición la Gran Logia de España, el Instituto de Patrimonio Cultural de España, el Palacio de Altamira, la nueva sede de BBVA, la Fundación Francisco Giner de los Ríos, Casa Palazuelo o el Hospital de Maudes. En esta edición, como en la anterior, también se han programado visitas a estudios de interiorismo, arquitectura y a viviendas privadas. Este año, Open House Madrid ha firmado un acuerdo con el COAM por el que el festival asumirá las visitas a los edificios dentro de la Semana de la Arquitectura que organiza anualmente el Colegio.
The site is surrounded by the unique hills of Chianti, covered with vineyards, half-way between Florence and Siena. A cultured and illuminated customer has made it possible to pursue, through architecture, the enhancement of the landscape and the surroundings as expression of the cultural and social valence of the place where wine is produced.
The functional aspects have therefore become an essential part of a design itinerary which centres on the geo- morphological experimentation of a building understood as the most authentic expression of a desired symbiosis and merger between anthropic culture, the work of man, his work environment and the natural environment. The physical and intellectual construction of the winery pivots on the profound and deep-rooted ties with the land, a relationship which is so intense and suffered (also in terms of economic investment) as to make the architectural image conceal itself and blend into it.
The project is based on an attentive reading of the life of a very specific kind of community, a sort of a micro-society with its own rules.
It is a program, somewhere in between a hotel and a hospital, that seeks to comprehend and reinterpret the combination social/private, answering to the needs of a social life, and at the same time of solitude. Independents unities aggregate into a unique body, whose design is expressive and clear.
‘Reading between the lines’ is a project by the duo Gijs Van Vaerenbergh, a collaboration between young Belgian architects Pieterjan Gijs (Leuven, 1983) and Arnout Van Vaerenbergh (Leuven, 1983). Since 2007, they have been realizing projects in public space together that start from their architectural background, but have an artistic intention. Their projects do not always originate out of the initiative of a classical client, for example, and carry a large degree of autonomy. Their primary concerns are experiment, reflection, a physical involvement with the end result and the input of the viewer.
