The project for the new Cointec offices is about the renovation of a commercial property across from Parque Severo Ochoa in the city of Orihuela. The space was presented raw, with only a metal structure built to support a mezzanine.
The low-lying position of the local roads and the fact that it is in a flood zone were decisive in the creation of an elevated level in the entry area that would serve as protection against water runoff.

In the neighbour’s garden
Densification can also be possible in built up settlement areas of one family houses. The property of House D is located in the middle of a block of buildings, which are surrounded by the local streets, and each building is part of the formation of a big wonderful garden right in the heart of the block. The generous building regulation allows us to build on all properties up to at least a quarter of the whole property area and thereby creates possibilities to divide properties and the densification of the green spaces.

The Villa is located in the Mirje Suburbs within the city center of Ljubljana, Slovenia. The street of the villa runs perpendicular to the ancient Roman Wall and continues into a pedestrian passageway under the stone pyramid designed by Plecnik (as part his reconstruction project along the wall). The Villa’s new structure embeds an existing retaining wall along the street front. By incorporating the wall as part of the new construction, the new house keeps original position on this street in an axial alignment to the pyramid.
Muxin Design and Research Studio located in Shanghai has recently completed an office in Zhangjiang Hi-tech Park. The client’s requirement for this 78 square meters office is that it has enough function and enjoyments in a limited budget.
To avoid the solemn impression of a traditional office, the design team aims to make full use of the space as well as create a variety of gray areas. The minimalism monochrome style is not only under the economical consideration, but also fits the modern and high-tech esthetic of an IT company. The design team also adds wooden bay windows that incorporates a stroke of natural warm color, providing a relaxing reading and communication environment for staff. Glass walls maximize the transparency of the whole space, making every part has easy visual access to another and the identity of each room blurred to expand vision in the office.
